  • Winter snow-clearing reminders from AH

    With the snow once again upon us, here are few friendly reminders of ways Algonquin Highlands residents can help keep local roads safe for snow-clearing operations this winter. Thanks for your assistance!

  • Subscribe to the AH monthly digital newsletter

    The Algonquin Highlands monthly digital newsletter for December is out now! Published the second week of each month, the newsletter is a great way to stay up to date on all things AH, including Council discussions, event and programming information, environmental tips and more!

  • Cross-Country Ski Trails Open
    With all of this freshly fallen snow, AH's hard-working Parks, Rec and Trails staff have been out grooming ski trails, and we're happy to report there are currently five kilometres open, including the Bunny, Sawmill and South Beaver trails, as well as a portion of the Fox trail.
  • December 12 Algonquin Highlands Council Agenda

    The next regular meeting of Algonquin Highlands Council takes place Thursday, December 12 starting at 9 a.m. You can find the agenda, including a link to the meeting's livestream broadcast, here.

  • Algonquin Highlands Office closing early - Monday, Dec. 9

    Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closing at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 9 due to the inclement weather. 

    If you are out on the roads, please drive carefully!

  • DRC and AH Trails Office closing early - Monday, Dec. 9

    Please note that due to the inclement weather and deteriorating driving conditions, the Dorset Recreation Centre and AH Trails Office at St. Nora Lake will both be closing at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 9. 

  • Oxtongue Lake tree lighting on Friday, December 6

    Residents are invited to welcome the festive season with a community tree-lighting celebration in Oxtongue Lake on Friday, December 6 at 4 6.m. The event will take place at the Community Centre. There will be hot chocolate, carols and a visit from Santa Claus. Please bring a travel mug to enjoy your hot chocolate. 

  • End of Declaration of Significant Weather Event

    The significant weather event declared for the Township of Algonquin Highlands on November 29, 2024, at 9 a.m. has been lifted as of December 2, 2024, at 9 a.m.

  • Postal strike affecting mail-out notices for planning applications

    Please note the ongoing Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) strike may cause delays in mail-out notices for Planning Act applications.
